Microsoft Tech Days officially kicked off today at my workplace in Bangalore, India. The event inauguration was done with the traditional lamp lighting by Stephen Elop, President, Business Solution Division, Microsoft. My Company’s joint CEO was present for the inaugration as well.

There are more than 50 sessions lined up and the faculty are architects from Microsoft with more than 12-13 years of experience.

The first day was immensely enlightening with the focus on a brand new technology that Microsoft is betting big time on -Windows Azure. Microsoft’s enthusiasm on Cloud is contagious with more and more people trying out and writing about it. Being still occupied with trying to unravel Rotor, I am yet to download the Windows Azure SDK and try it out. Will have to hurry though, the trainer mentioned that the tokens used to download the SDK might not be free after December.

I immediately nominated myself for it lest the number of slots get over. There are also separate tracks for developers, architects and IT professionals, totally having more than 20 sessions each day. I hope we get to choose the sessions to attend rather than being tied to a particular track as this would make the whole event more flexible.

Will post whatever new I learn there!!!
